Sandy's calendar in late October is the Halloween finale and the turn toward ski season, with the Delta Center and Rice-Eccles just minutes away. Here is what is happening in and around Sandy right now and into November:
- South Town Pet Halloween Costume Contest (October 24, 10 a.m.-noon): Shops at South Town in Sandy host a costume contest for the whole family, pets included, a free and friendly start to the Halloween weekend.
- Utah Jazz home opener & homestand (October 23-28): The Jazz host the Pelicans (Oct 23), Lakers (Oct 25), Grizzlies (Oct 26), and Spurs (Oct 28) at the Delta Center, minutes from Sandy.
- Utah Mammoth home games (October 24 & 27): The NHL's new-era Utah Mammoth host Tampa Bay and Minnesota at the Delta Center, a short drive north.
- Utah Utes vs. Houston (October 24, 8:15 p.m.): A marquee Big 12 game at Rice-Eccles Stadium, with the BYU rivalry game at home on Nov 7 to follow.
