This is the busiest, most exciting stretch of summer along the Wasatch Front. We are right in the middle of Lehi Round-Up Week and Fort Herriman Towne Days — two of the region's most beloved community celebrations — and this week builds to the biggest nights: the Round-Up PRCA Rodeo's final performances, the Towne Days drone show and parade, and then Independence Day on Saturday, July 4. Farmers markets are in full swing, the Daybreak and Draper concert series are delivering free lakeside and park shows, and the long daylight hours make every evening feel like an invitation to get outside.
Whether you have lived along the Wasatch Front for decades or you are scouting neighborhoods for a move, this is the time of year that makes this region feel truly special. Adam and Natalie Stark are out at these events every summer — rodeos, parades, farmers market mornings, and patio dinners are all part of the rhythm of life here. Here is your guide to everything happening from now through Independence Day 2026.

The PRCA Rodeo runs four consecutive nights starting Wednesday, the beloved Family Western BBQ is Tuesday evening, and Saturday's Grand Parade is one of the signature community events on the entire Wasatch Front. With its festive "Stars, Stripes, and Sparkles" theme honoring America's 250th anniversary, this year's Round-Up is extra special.
This Week's Round-Up Schedule

The PRCA Rodeo is the crown jewel — bronc riding, bull riding, barrel racing, and roping over four electrifying nights that draw competitors from across the region. Tuesday's Family Western BBQ at Wines Park is a beloved tradition with live entertainment and classic Western fare. But Saturday morning's Grand Parade is the event that brings all of Lehi together — the extended route through the heart of the community is packed with floats, marching bands, scout troops, and local organizations. If you are considering a move to Lehi or Utah County, experiencing Round-Up Week gives you a genuine taste of the community's character and pride. Adam and Natalie have attended Round-Up Week many times — it is one of those events that makes you feel like you belong the moment you walk through the gate.

Towne Days Highlights This Week

Herriman is one of the fastest-growing cities on the Wasatch Front, and Towne Days showcases exactly why families continue to move here — a tight-knit community that knows how to come together. The Friday night drone show has quickly become a crowd favorite, and the Saturday parade is a must-see. Adam and Natalie regularly help clients find homes in Herriman and the southwest valley — Towne Days is one of the best ways to see the community spirit firsthand.

Independence Day Preview: Saturday, July 4
Independence Day is just twelve days away, and communities across Salt Lake and Utah Counties are gearing up for one of the biggest celebration weekends of the year. Here is what we know so far:
July 4th Celebrations
- Thanksgiving Point Freedom Celebration (Lehi): Gates open at 4:00 p.m. at Electric Park with fireworks at 10:00 p.m. — one of the largest fireworks displays in Utah County. Free admission.
- Murray Fun Days (Murray): Multi-day celebration at Murray Park with a fireworks display at 10:00 p.m.
- Riverton Town Days: Flag-raising ceremony at 6:30 a.m., country races (10K, 5K, 1-mile) at 7:00 a.m., children's parade, and fireworks at Riverton City Park.
- Salt Lake City (The Gateway): Live music, food, and fireworks beginning at 10:00 p.m.
- Pleasant Grove "Red, White & Boom": Festivities at 6:00 p.m. at Cook Family Park (724 N 600 W) with fireworks at dark.
- Sandy, Draper, and West Jordan: All traditionally host their own fireworks displays — check city websites for 2026 details.
Adam and Natalie are big fans of the Thanksgiving Point Freedom Celebration — the combination of the Ashton Gardens, the open fields, and one of the biggest fireworks shows in the county makes it an ideal family outing. Arrive early for a good spot and bring blankets and lawn chairs. After the fireworks, the drive home along the I-15 corridor through Draper and Sandy is always a beautiful summer night cruise.
Summer Outdoor Activities: Peak Season
Late June is the most beautiful stretch along the Wasatch Front. Wildflower season is in full swing in the foothills and lower canyons, trails are clear of snow at lower and mid elevations, and the long daylight hours (sunrise around 6:00 a.m., sunset near 9:00 p.m.) give you plenty of time for outdoor adventures after work. Here are our top picks for this week:
Evening Hikes in Corner Canyon (Draper)
Head up Corner Canyon in the late afternoon around 6:30–7:00 p.m. when the sun dips behind the Oquirrh range. Shady trails, cooler temperatures, and spectacular sunset views over the south valley. Over 150 miles of interconnected trails make Corner Canyon one of the best trail systems in the state. If you are considering buying a home near Corner Canyon, this is the best way to experience the lifestyle firsthand.
Wildflower Hikes in Big Cottonwood Canyon
Big Cottonwood Canyon is in its prime for wildflowers right now. The Silver Lake Loop, Willow Heights, and Twin Lakes Loop all offer relatively easy terrain with stunning alpine scenery. Early morning visits are recommended to avoid crowds at popular trailheads.
Paddleboarding on Oquirrh Lake (Daybreak)
Daybreak residents can rent kayaks and paddleboards for free on Oquirrh Lake. For visitors, the 3.2-mile lake loop trail is perfect for a morning walk, followed by a dirty chai and fresh pastry at Biscotts Bakery & Cafe at the Hub. The lake is calmest in the early morning, making it ideal for sunrise paddle sessions.
Blackridge Reservoir Swimming (Herriman)
This man-made reservoir with a sandy beach is Herriman's go-to summer swimming spot. The water warms up nicely by late June, and the surrounding trails and mountain biking paths make it easy to combine a swim with a full outdoor day. Kayaking and fishing are also popular here.
Bell Canyon Waterfall (Sandy/Draper)
One of the most popular local hikes — the Bell Canyon Trail leads to a dramatic waterfall that is flowing strongly right now with snowmelt. Arrive early (before 8:00 a.m.) on weekends to secure parking at the trailhead.
Splash Pads & Family Water Fun
With temperatures warming into the high 80s and low 90s this week, splash pads are the perfect afternoon escape for families. Here is where to cool off:
Herriman Splash Pads
J. Lynn Crane Park, Oquirrh Shadows Park, Rosecrest Park, Umbria Estates · Open daily 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. through Labor Day. Free.
Sandy Amphitheater Park
Sandy · Free splash pad near the amphitheater grounds. Combine with a Saturday farmers market visit.
Draper Smith Fields Park
Draper · Splash pad plus large playground. Open for summer season.
Daybreak Splash Pads
Multiple locations throughout the Daybreak community. Free for residents and visitors.
